At Columbia University, Chris _(artist-name)Baio_ was one of those guys who keep things moving, from running radio to throwing basement shows to DJing parties. From there, he went on to play bass with a group called _(artist-name)Vampire Weekend_, who pulled off the feat of getting in and out of a massive hype without drowning in premature praise or being hit by the wrath of the music press backlash. From an acclaimed debut to their chart-topping second album _(album-title)Coma_, their unique blending of a punk attitude with ivy league socialisation and the afro-beat heritage had them score glowing reviews, an MTV Unplugged session and countless _(album-title)Graceland_ references. Through all of this, however, _(artist-name)Baio_ has used whatever time was available to take this eclectic approach right to the heart of the party. Whether he’s there in person or sending his solo releases on Greco Roman, his Brooklyn take on post balearic sounds is tearing up dance floors from Miami to Bristol, from London to Malawi.
