Italian sound librarian David Nerattini takes a journey down the Amazon with this selection of lost Brazilian treasures.
The Trevi fountain has nothing on Academy team member _(artist-name)David Nerattini_, aka _(artist-name)Little Tony Negri_. He’s a veritable fountain of knowledge about slept-on funk, jazz and rare Italian library records, and is for sure one of the old Roman capital’s greatest assets. From 2002 to 2009, David and editorial cohort Silvia Volpato published Superfly Magazine, an investigation into the dusty crates of music’s furthest recesses - which after ending its run on ink and paper, relaunched as a film/documentary company. In 2010 he started Pinball Music, a record label devoted to reissue hard-to-find albums from the Flipper Music catalogue, one of Italy’s major publishers of library music since the early 1970s. His involvement in music goes even deeper: from DJing in the mid-eighties on the island of Santorini, to producing for several Italian acts such as _(artist-name)Colle Der Fomento_, _(artist-name)Orchestra di Piazza Vittorio_ and _(artist-name)Raf_, this Italiano is also lethal on the drums.
