Sónar Sessions 2012
Recorded at Sónar in Barcelona Spain
Blissful soundscapes from the rubble of Detroit techno, balearic slow jams, and molten desert rock. Esperanza live at Sónar 2012.
_(artist-name)Esperanza_ are a trio of three young Italians doing what they do best: forcing us listeners to redefine our musical categories, as they reconstruct their own blissful soundscapes from the rubble of Detroit techno, 60s psychedelia, balearic slow jams, and molten desert rock. Their debut album dropped on Gomma at the tail end of 2011, and has already garnered praise from many end-of-year lists, and forward-looking DJs like _(artist-name)James Holden_ and _(artist-name)Laurent Garnier_. _(artist-name)Esperanza_ is a three-way partnership between 2008 participant _(artist-name)Cécile_, bassist Matteo, and all-rounder Sergio. Together they combine the sum of their influences to create an unusual musical signature. With two singles and an album, _(artist-name)Esperanza_ are quickly forging a new modern Italian sound.
