What makes an experimental noise band struggling with pop sensibilities tick? A selection of ace tunes handpicked by the Fuck Buttons.

Conceived by Andrew Hung and Benjamin John Power back in 2004, _(artist-name)Fuck Buttons_ was born as an outlet for their nihilistic-noise tendencies, but the two soon realised that they could harness the use of noise as a tool to immerse and evoke. No longer afraid of melody or rhythm, the group started fusing all these elements to the point when drone becomes melody becomes rhythm. They signed to the ATP label and after spending some time harnessing their sound released their first single _(song-title)Bright Tomorrow_ three years after their inception, followed by their debut album the next year, to great exaltation across the board. Their second album, _(album-title)Tarot Sport_, employed a subtler approach to song writing and showed us the sharpening tools of their trade, with single _(song-title)Olympians_ gracing the high ends of most critics’ Best Of 2009 lists. Fuck Buttons offer everything from subtle found electronics to washes of blistering drone, from tinkling piano to hypnotic tribal percussive rhythms and from voice-induced animalistic sounds to distorted thrashing vocals.
