Live at Butterz Is Three
Recorded at Cable in London United Kingdom
Bristol / London United Kingdom
Two top-tier names in UK bass go back to back. Hosted by none other than JME and Skepta. Boy Better Know, it’s three years of Butterz!
Two top-tier names in low end frequencies go back to back. The man like _(artist-name)Joker_ has come a long way in a short time, from sending tracks to _(artist-name)Plastician_ from his Bristol bedroom to traveling the world on the back of a string of tracks that have taken bass music up, forwards and sideways. Fellows like _(artist-name)Pinch_ or _(artist-name)Kode9_ were quick to realize his talents, leading to releases on Hyperdub and the creation of his own Tectonic-affiliated Kapsize label. His love for hedonistic dancefloor anthems and noise-drenched synths has made him one of the few artists of the Bristol bubble whose sound actually translates the raw energy of all things step to stages around the world. On the other hand, Croydon’s funk phenomenon _(artist-name)Swindle_ ranges amongst the few names that point grime into new and exciting directions. His take on the East London post-UKG legacy never loses touch with the screwface crowd but does so including swirling melodies, jazzy vibes and a heavy p-funk thump. Besides working with the likes of _(artist-name)Wiley_, _(artist-name)Mitchell Brothers_ or _(artist-name)Toddla T_, and churning out tune after tune on labels such as Planet Mu and Rwina, Swindle also is one of the main heads behind the infamous Butterz label.
